Our firstborn son is FIVE! I find it hard to believe that time could pass so quickly. My life has changed dramatically in the last five years. What a ride! Soren was very excited for his big day. Cards trickled in and added to the suspense during the week before his birthday. It was fun to watch.
Erik took the big kids to playgroup for a picnic lunch while I worked on Soren’s bday cake. Papa arrived at the airport in the early afternoon and we headed out for a delicious birthday dinner at Barros that evening. After stuffing ourselves with pizza we returned home for birthday cake and presents. Soren requested a chocolate and mint flavored Shaun the Sheep cake this year. The boy knows how to pick em… the cake was so yummy!
As usual, Soren was spoiled rotten this year with cash and gifts. He got some of his biggest wishes and has been entertained for hours with his new goodies. When I asked what the best moment of his fifth birthday was, Soren told me it was the moment he opened one of his gifts. “It was the best moment in my LIFE, mom!”
We decided to throw Soren’s first birthday party for friends this year. It was just a small party but Soren was thrilled. He chose to celebrate at Peter Piper Pizza. Tons of tokens & games, pizza and cupcakes were featured. Soren played games until he was DONE! I didn’t get any pictures of the cupcakes, but we continued the Shaun the Sheep theme.
Soren’s friends were so generous. Once again he got gifts that were just right for him. He definitely wants to do the party thing again!
Soren’s birthday weekend is always crazy. It seems to fall on Easter most years. What a lucky boy!
