This weekend was scout o rama. Troops from all over the Phoenix area are able to set up booths and show what they have been working on over the last year. I have asked Soren on numerous occasions what he wants to be when he grows up. Most of the time his response is “I just want to lead scouts.” Be careful what you wish for, if he stays active in the LDS church, leadership in scouts will no doubt one day come. If they let you begin scouts at age 5, Soren would no doubt be an eagle by age 8. I knew that Soren would love scout o rama, so we went and checked it out. I took pictures of some of the activities. Ashley was at a baby shower, so I had the older two.
Soren and Svea on a “gravity Merry go Round.” Actually, a very well done booth.
Launching marshmallows from a catapult into the Arizona 5 “C’s” – Cattle, Cooper, Cotton, Climate, Citrus
Playing a rope game – This was our troop’s entry into the O-Rama. It was a well done set up, but they stuck us way in the back of everything. Really hard to find. Good job Troop 130!
Launching 2-liter rockets pumped up by air pressure
Soren on a rope bridge. Made it across by himself. Check out Soren’s compass hanging off his neck. He didn’t want to show up at a scout event without having his compass. Be Prepared!
Obstacle course
Go Carts
Ping pong ball guns powered by rubber bands
A huge car race track where a bunch of cars were dropped in from the top and they had make it past saw blades, ramps, a swinging log, and other stuff. Soren could have spent all day at this booth alone. You can see his little hoodie right up front laughing every time the cars crashed.
We also ate a ton of dutch oven food, made hover crafts and watched other demonstrations. We were lucky after having 90 degree temperatures last weekend it was down in the mid 60’s this weekend. Fun day and very busy. Definitely increased Soren’s interest in scouts and was something a little different than the usual activities.

Your smart to go now, as we are too busy with sports to take the boys... :( We only have 2 more years and we'll be there with Jack though!
Whats with this "if he stays active" stuff though??
