Fall is FINALLY here! We’re so excited to get out of our end of summer slump. Here are a few pics and videos to get you caught up.
Soren practices his civil engineering skills and creates all kinds of "structures". He needs to take a materials class though - for some reason he keeps trying to make his climbing tunnel into a slide. He's taken a few hits to his head doing this, but he keeps trying to make a "stable structure" from this soft tube.
Sorry to put you through another crying video, but this one is pretty funny. Svea is VERY independent. She wants to do everything herself. Especially eating. But she can't hold a spoon or a fork. Any dinner that doesn't consist solely of finger food becomes very interesting.
We spent a relatively cool day out at the park:
Svea has no fear – she tackled the big kids playground right away
Svea getting into trouble again. This girl loves to climb and won’t let anything get in her way. Svea's independence can also be a huge benefit. She's often found quietly playing by herself in Soren's room.
For the Coug fans in the family – we do dress blue every once in awhile!
Svea in the pool with her clothes on
The national newsworthy storm – we have some torn screens and a broken window from this hail!
Hike on South Mountain as soon as it was cool enough. We met tons of people on the trail. Everyone is so cheerful this time of year as we FINALLY get to be outside comfortably.
Lunch at Whataburger. Our big eater can eat a whole kids meal herself. The burger is her favorite, the fries are just ok.
Oh yes, enough hair to let a barrette cling for a few minutes at a time.
EnJOYing our backyard again. Soren would shoot the ball in the basket, then Svea would retrieve the ball for him to take another turn. They were having a blast! Sorry about the dirty outfit – outgrown clothes work well for getting grubby in the yard!
Soren singing for us:
If you chance to meet a frown,
do not let it stay
Quickly turn it upside down
and smile that frown away
No one likes a frowny face
Change it for a smile
Make the world a better place by smiling all the while!
