I’d like to try and capture a few memories of this summer before it is all a distant memory. We had a great visit with family in late July in Connecticut. We headed out on an early morning flight across the country. Soren and Svea both enjoyed watching the airport traffic out the windows of the terminal, especially Svea who squealed and pointed at everything that moved.
Erik’s Aunt Janet and Uncle Tom were kind enough to house us for our entire stay back East. We were spoiled with two bedrooms, a bunch of toys and a huge backyard to run and play in. Upon our arrival we were able to visit with Gramma Gerd and Papa Ralph, Erik’s grandparents and Erik’s cousin Alana. Papa flew in from Utah and Erik’s cousin Alison drove from Boston to spend a few days with us as well. It was such a nice visit – I wish it wasn’t so far as I LOVE Erik’s family and wish we could manage to see them more often.
We really enjoyed the outdoors and cool(er than Phx) weather while we were there. Along with spending lots of time with family, we also:
Enjoyed an outdoor concert in the rain
Caught lots and lots of frogs in various ponds
Played with Papa who flew in from UT for a few days of fun
Swam in a few lakes and ponds
Admired Gramma Gerd’s Piggies
Went fishing for blues with Papa, Janet, Alana & Ali off the CT coast
Enjoyed a DELISH lunch at Abbott’s
More family time:
More swimming at Long Meadow Pond:
Eating those yummy bluefish:
Playing at Ballentyne Park
Lunch at McDonalds with Gramma Gerd
Playing at March Farms:
Kayaking on Long Meadow Pond
Svea’s Pre-Birthday Celebration
On the way to the airport home
It was a lovely visit. Thanks to all who made it possible!
